Tourism's impact on employment in the Northwest Florida area is both visible and predictable.
In the Northwest Florida area, the highest levels of employment for leisure and hospitality (which includes accommodations and food services, as well as amusement and recreation services) in the months of April through September. For the year 2006, the number of employed persons in Northwest Florida in the leisure and hospitality sector peaked in June at 50,201 while the lowest level of employed persons occurred in January with 42,077 persons.
